Nancy's Description of Mandavilla Just a minute's drive from Cruz Bay to a private cul-de-sac on Pocket Money Hill, Mandavilla overlooks St. John's main town of Cruz Bay and myriad green islands in the distance. The entry to this deluxe villa is flanked by a garden loggia set with table and chairs amongst tropical flowers. You enter the elegantly furnished and beautifully equipped kitchen, dining and living area; this stylish room flows outside through pocket sliding doors onto a covered indoor/outdoor living area set on 8-foot cantilevered balconies, partly roofed for shade and offering wide-angle ocean views and cooling tradewinds. On either side of the living area are two nearly-equal, air-conditioned king bedroom/bath suites, oversized and plushly outfitted. An exterior staircase leads down through more lush gardens to the pool deck complete with chaise lounges and a shaded pool cabana. Mandavilla's generous freeform pool and separate jacuzzi enjoy sunshine all day long, and are surrounded by gorgeous gardens and bordered by custom native bluebit stone terracing. Casual elegance with many custom details, original artwork, and dramatic sunsets from the balconies make Mandavilla a stunning and exceptional villa for two or four...very highly recommended! From time to time, on-site management is in an apartment below with a separate entrance; he's there if you need him for seasoned advice on island activities and anything else you might want to know, but your vacation privacy is, of course, assured. Four stars.[Flanking Mandavilla on either side are two villas, Ginger Thomas and Ylang-Ylang. You may rent just Mandavilla for one to four persons, or you may also rent Ginger Thomas and/or Ylang Ylang together, to sleep up to 12 persons in three separate villas. Although these villas are next door to each other, privacy between the three properties is well maintained by good design and landscaping. These three villas are conveniently located near Cruz Bay - just a short walk, or about a 1-1/2-minutes' drive to shopping, dining, island-style nightlife, and all the holiday fun that popular St. John has to offer]. Amenities 3 Cable TVs + DVD players, VCR in LR, CD/tape player, Bose radio, movie + music collections, books, games, A/C in both bedrooms, DSL line + Wi-Fi for your laptop, water cooler, 2 hair dryers + curling iron, hammock, cooler + reclining beach chairs; pool cabana, gas grill, automatic generator, dishwasher, laundry (COMING in LATE 2007: a walking path through the gardens).
