Nancy's Description of Great View Tucked into a cul-de-sac at the end of a private neighborhood road on St. Thomas's east end, charming Great View is aptly named. From Great View's front tiled patio overlooking Red Hook and St. John to the scenic pool deck, wonderful ocean views and cooling tradewinds abound. This elegant home is conveniently laid out on two levels. Adjacent to the carport below the villa is a gated entryway and a brick staircase leading up to Great View's Main Level. The entry door opens into the high-ceilinged Great Room and its two walls of glass sliders which bring the island's tropical splendor right inside. On one end of the Great Room is the spacious kitchen and a half bath, and adjoining is a large den, with a convenient home office with DSL or Wi-Fi connection for your laptop, and a fax machine. The den/office may be partitioned off with shutters on tracks at any time to make an extra bedroom with a queen sofabed. On the other side of the Great Room are three air-conditioned bedrooms. The king master bedroom suite leads to the second and third bedroom suites (one bedroom with a queen and the other with two twin beds) just beyond; all three suites open to the beautiful pool and sun deck just outside. The large pool area is the heart of this lovely property, offering plenty of space for sunbathing and some shaded areas for a nap, and sublime views of the island and sea; a wet bar with mini-fridge and ice maker, and a bubbling fountain flowing into the generous pool, complete this perfect place to gather and relax. On Great View's Lower Level, accessed via an exterior walkway, are three more air-conditioned bedrooms (two queens and a two-twin bedroom), two with satellite TV, and two baths. From one of the queen bedrooms is a balcony overlooking the gardens, set with a table and chairs. A pool table is set up in the center of things, perfect for family fun - or watch TV and movies in the lower lounge, with a kitchenette just next to the lounge, equipped with a full refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, sink and counter with stools for handy snacks and simple, private meals. This large, stylish villa is surrounded by lush, manicured landscaping; it's just a convenient, short drive from Great View to The Ritz-Carlton Club & Hotel down the road and to several excellent beaches, and just a few minutes further to Red Hook for shopping, restaurants, watersports and day sails, or for the ferries to St. John and Tortola. Beautifully furnished and situated in a lovely neighborhood on St. Thomas's desirable East End, rent either Great View's Main Level for up to 8 guests, or both levels for up to 14 persons (just perfect for a large family and friends!), but please book early for Great View, as this special villa is very popular with our guests! Rental Notes 1 to 6 guests will have use of the Main Level only. 7 or more guests may add the use of the Lower Level. IF YOUR PARTY IS 6 PERSONS OR LESS AND IS OCCUPYING GREAT VIEW'S MAIN LEVEL, YOU CAN HAVE ACCESS TO + THE USE OF THE POOL TABLE ON THE LOWER LEVEL. HOWEVER, IF ANY OF THE LOWER LEVEL ROOMS (OTHER THAN THE MAIN ROOM WHERE THE POOL TABLE IS LOCATED) - BEDROOMS, BATHS, KITCHENETTE, ETC. BE USED BY YOU OR YOUR PARTY DURING YOUR STAY, YOU WILL BE CHARGED THE RENTAL RATE FOR THOSE LOWER LEVEL ROOMS. PLEASE NOTE, SO THAT THERE IS NO MISUNDERSTANDING ABOUT THIS FIRM POLICY LATER! *Add $100 per person per week for use of queen sofabed in the den, just off the kitchen on the Main Level. A 7-night minimum rental is required for Great View all year around (except Christmas/New Year's, when a 10-night minimum rental is required). There is a tenant in the apartment below the villa, with his own private entrance. He cannot see into any part of the villa, including the pool area, so your privacy is completely assured at Great View. ADVISORY: There are neighborhood dogs on either side of Great View who have barking spells from time to time. We do work with the neighbors in a spirit of mutual cooperation, and try to keep everything as peaceful as possible, but dogs will be dogs and they will bark when strangers are around. If you cannot tolerate this sort of disturbance, we suggest you select another villa. |
