Nancy's Description of Villa Diamante Villa Diamante is located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac amongst a bower of trees and vivid bougainvillea. Built in three pavilions separated by a spacious sun deck and octagonal pool overlooking Sir Francis Drake Channel and the U.S. Virgins beyond, this whimsical artist's hideaway offers charm and seclusion with flair. The main pavilion houses the living room and a kitchen area, separated by Mexican wooden screens, and a powder room is just around the corner. On the other side of the main pavilion is a romantic covered lanai for intimate alfresco dining. This main pavilion is bordered by a covered gallery on the pool side set with comfy overstuffed chairs and sofa, just perfect for sinking into with that stack of magazines and a cold cocktail. Across the pool deck is Villa Diamante's second pavilion, built on two levels and graced with a colorful riot of flowering plants. The deck level offers the air-conditioned king master suite with its polished hardwood floor (bare feet only, please!), its inventive decor accented by collections of seashells, antique pieces and a blend of pleasing textures and fabrics. The breezy queen bedroom/bath suite is just above on this pavilion's upper level. Stairs lead down from the pool deck to the third bedroom/bath pavilion below, an air-conditioned queen suite with its own private deck. All suites offer lovely ocean vistas and cooling tradewinds. Villa Diamante is uniquely furnished with rustic but stylish furniture, artistically adorned by ethnic fabrics and accessories, shells, knick-knacks from around the world; this villa displays a rare sense of style in Caribbean colors. You'll find this serene and private property, one of our all-time villa favorites on Tortola, the perfect spot from which to watch yachts sail into the sunset. Rental Notes Villa Diamante's two-story bedroom pavilion has two bedrooms which are situated one on top of the other. There is little soundproofing between the upper and lower floors; therefore, we recommend that this pavilion be occupied by families rather than by 3 couples - but of course, this is entirely up to you. The third bedroom pavilion is totally separate and private. A FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE RENTAL CAR OR JEEP IS REQUIRED FOR VILLA DIAMANTE. |
